A chaplain visits workplaces across the city to offer unconditional, impartial listening and support.
She is there for people of all faiths and none, and while her own faith is important to her, she never brings it up (although she is happy to answer questions about it).
She believes there is a real value in giving people the opportunity to process things and talk things through.
The service is free of charge available to everyone.
In Edinburgh City Centre, your chaplain is Sally Fraser.
Sally has been living in Edinburgh for twenty years. She is trained in pastoral ministry in the Ignatian tradition, which means she tries to find God in all different places, in everyday life. She loves getting to meet people and feels very lucky to get to spend so much time chatting to people in shops!
Sally is interested in the way some faith practises can be of use to people no matter what they believe, for example being reflective and still, or using discernment in decision making.
There are also volunteer chaplains who make visits and support people, and another full time chaplain in the west of Edinburgh, Esther Elliott.
Sally is supported and funded by Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together, also known as The Together Trust, a Scottish registered charity number SCO40773.
